Currently the Lions are (3-2) and (0-1) in the Big Ten. After a convincing week 4 34-0 win over Kent State Golden Flashes, last time out the Lions where defeated on the road by the Indiana Hoosiers 22-44.
Next up for PSU are the No.18 ranked Michigan Wolverines (5-0) and (1-0) in the Big Ten. This is going to be a big test when the Wolverines visit on Saturday.
Michigan Watch
QB Devin Gardner (snr) has thrown for 1036 yards (comp 60.2%) for 8 TD's and 8 interceptions. He has also rushed for 318 yards.
RB Fitzgerald Toussaint (snr) has 397 rushing yards, averaging 96 yards a game and 4.1 yards per carry chipping in with 7 TD's
Penn State
WR Jeremy Gallon (snr) has received for 367 yards with 4 TD's.
Highly rated freshman QB Christian Hackenberg has thrown for 1367 yards (comp 59%) with 8 TD's and 4 interceptions.
RB Zack Zwinak (snr) has 369 rushing yards and 8TD's. Zwinak ran for 1000 yards in 2012.
WR Allen Robinson (jnr) is probably the most talented offensive player at PSU. Robinson has 621 receiving yards, averaging 16.3 yards per carry and 5 TD's this season.
The Penn State off the field issues are well documented and has left the Lions roster a little thin. Safety's Adrian Amos and Stephen Obeng-Agyapong may switch to lineback as coach O'Brien may be forced to shuffle his pack due to injuries. PSU need to improve their ability to turnover the football. Coach O'Brien will look to use his QB Christian Hackenberg and the speed and agility of WR Allen Robinson to unlock the Michigan defence.
Over 100,000 spectators be packed into the Beaver Stadium on Saturday hoping to see the Lions putting the breaks on a Michigan side in the hunt for the Big Ten championship.
