M&T Bank Stadium - Overcast. Mild. 66 °F
Mike McCarthy takes his Green Bay Packers (2-2) to defending champions the Baltimore Ravens(3-2). The Packers are trying to find some consistency as the Ravens continue to evolve with life after legend Ray Lewis.
The Packers have not been great on the road loosing their last 4. Aaron Rodgers has been sacked 45 times in the last 12 games away from the Lambeau Field. Despite this the Green Bay no. 12 is a quality QB, calm in the pocket and able to move football up the field. Rodgers has thrown for 1331 yards averaging 312 yards a game for 9 touchdowns and 3 interceptions. RB James Starks has contributed with 2 touchdowns carrying 187 yards. Green Bay have numerous options out wide. WR Jordy Nelson has 23 catches for 371 and 3 touchdowns. WR's James Jones and Randall Cobb have also chipped in with 2 touchdowns for over 300 yards in receptions.
DE Clay Matthews (thumb) is one of a number of Green Bay defensive players to miss this one through injury. 2nd year OLB Nick Perry has 2 sacks to his name this season, equaling his total from 2012. This could be an opportunity for him to shine in the absence of Matthews.
Baltimore head coach John Harbaugh will want to continue on where the Ravens left off in week 5 with a win at Miami. Joe Flacco has thrown for 1360 yards for 5 touchdowns and 8 interceptions. His pocket has been breached on 14 occasions this season. RB's Ray Rice and Bernard Pierce have only averaged 2.9 yards per carry with 2 and 3 touchdowns respectively. The offense continue to look for ways to improve Rice's output. WR Torrey Smith sits 3rd in the NFL with receiving yards. 27 catches for 556 yards at 20.6 yards a carry. WR's Jacoby Jones (knee), Brandon Stokley (thigh) and RB Bernard Pierce (thigh) are all questionable.
The Ravens defense have some quality in their ranks. OLB Terrelle Suggs has 7 sacks this season and OLB Elvis Dumervil has 3 to his name. ILB Daryl Smith has 43 combined tackles including 1.5 sacks and 2 interceptions.
This should be a good game. Both QB's have Super Bowl rings and can make plays at crucial times during the game. The Packers wide men have the ability to get in behind the Ravens secondary. The home side have quality linebackers who will be looking to to pressure Aaron Rodgers at every opportunity.
Key men
Green Bay - Aaron Rodgers, if he can stay on his feet he knows where to put the football.
Baltimore - Terrelle Suggs, the tough tackler can lead the defensive line and prevent Rodgers from making plays.
