Week 7 of the NFL season kicks off in Arizona. The NFC West brings a Seattle (5-1) at Arizona (3-3) match up. With the best record in the NFC, Seattle will look to prove the doubters wrong they they can keep winning on the road. The visitors have lost their last two games in Arizona but this is a much improved Seahawks under head coach Pete Carroll.
Despite the loss to the Colts in week 5 the NFC West leaders have played some good football. QB Russell Wilson is a real threat to any defense, his rushing stats are comparable to that of a good franchise RB, 294 yards averaging 49 yards a game. He has some excellent weapons at his disposal with RB Marshawn Lynch and WR's Doug Baldwin and Golden Tate.
It's not all about the offense, the Seahawks defense are doing their job too. 9 interceptions have been made this season, FS Earl Thomas and CB Richard Sherman each have 3. Carson Palmer will be their next target tonight as Seattle look to add to their 16 sacks lead by DE Michael Bennett with 3.5. Seattle come into this one with the 2nd best rush offense and pass defense in the NFL.
Marshawn Lynch is listed as probable (hip).
Arizona lost at on the road to San Francisco in week 6. QB Carson Palmer and the offense have yet to put more than 25 points on the board in anyone game. Palmer with just 7 touchdowns this season has thrown 11 picks. WR's Larry Fitzgerald and Michael Floyd have averaged 67.5 and 57.5 receiving yards per game respectively.
The Cardinals defense are a capable unit, in week 5 they prevented Panthers QB Cam Newton from putting six on the board. The 49ers had to wait until the last quarter to do the just that. Karlos Dansby as a total of 57 tackles with 2.5 sacks and an interception. DE Darnell Docket has 4 sacks this season.
Larry Fitzgerald is listed as probable (hamstring). Karlos Dansby is also listed as probable (quadriceps).
Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians will be looking to stay in the mix in a highly competitive NFC West division. For some outside Seattle the jury is still out whether or not the Seahawks can get it done on the road. Both teams have plenty to play for as Thursday nights game could add yet more twists and turns to what is already become a fascinating season of football.
Key Men
Seattle - Marshawn Lynch, averaging 81.2 yards a game and 5 touchdowns this season, Lynch has the ability to hurt any defense.
Arizona - Larry Fitzgerald, he could be key to improving the Cardinals offensive output.
