Houston Texans (2-4) at Kansas City Chiefs (6-0) Arrowhead Stadium
It’s the best pass defense in the league versus the 2nd best pass defense in the league.
The Texans may rely on the running game to get the points on the board by going to RB Arian Foster (531 yards). The issues at QB is will documented. Matt Schaub and TJ Yates have both thrown pick sixes which have been costly. WR Andre Johnson has 44 receptions (the most in the league) but he still waiting for his first touchdown. TE Owen Daniels and TE Garrett Graham each have 3 touchdowns this season.
The Texans have great leadership on the defense field with ILB Brian Cushing and DE JJ Watt. The defense has only two picks this season, a stat that will have to improve as the weeks go by.
Matt Schaub is out (ankle). Arian Foster is probable (hamstring). Andre Johnson is probable (shin).
Alex Smith will be in no mood to let the Kansas City unbeaten record disappear in week 7. The running game has improved at the Arrowhead lead by RB Jamal Charles, he has carried for 475 yards and 5 touchdowns, averaging 79.2 yards a game. Charles is just 10 yards short of WR Donnie Avery’s numbers of 310 receiving yards.
The Chiefs have had a formidable defense this season and is regarded as the biggest strength in Andy Reid’s locker. Last week they sacked Terrelle Pryor 10 times. OLB Jim Houston has 9.5 Sacks this season closely followed behind ny OLB Tamba Hali with 6.5. Chiefs who have the 5th best rush defense will look to stop the run of Arian Foster.
Donnie Avery is listed as probable (shoulder).
The Arrowhead faithful may be expecting another win this week but don’t expect the Texans to lie down without a fight.
Key men
Houston - Arian Foster, if the Texans struggle to pass the football, Foster will be their biggest threat to the Chiefs.
Kansas City - Jim Houston, if he can take care of the football and keep the Texans offense on the side lines it could be a long day for the visitors.
