Available on Channel 4 and Sky Sports.
Both teams flew into London at the start of the week in preparation for the 2nd instalment of the 2013 International Series. A good move as I feel that the Steelers arrived in London for their game against the Vikings far too late.
The 49ers (5-2) are hot right now, coming into week 8 after 4 straight wins. Colin Kaepernick is fast becoming a well respected QB in the NFL, his mobility has allowed him to rush for 240 yards this season. Frank Gore will lead a good solid running game, 547 yards and 7 touchdowns for the season. If fit Vernon Davis (hamstring) is fit he will feature along with WR Anquan Boldin who leads has 34 receptions for 495 yards.
The 49ers defence don't give a great deal up, just over 19.3 points per game have been conceded. Aldon Smith (4.5) and Ahmad Brooks (3.5) will be looking to add to their sacks this afternoon in an attempt to disrupt the output of a floundering Jaguars offense.
There has not been a great deal to shout about in Jacksonville (0-7) of late. Their offense is ranked 32nd in the NFL. Chad Henne looks to have made the QB position his. The Jaguars IR is a long one. WR's Justin Blackmon (hamstring) and Cecil Shorts III (shoulder) are both listed as probable.
On the otherside of the football there isn't much to cheer about either. The Jaguars defense have just 3 picks and 11 sacks this season. Penalties are given away far to often and that will be costly against a good offensive line today. Linebacker Paul Posluszny leads with 68 combined tackles.
San Francisco are on a good streak of form right now and are serious contenders for the NFC championship. Despite no wins, there is a sense of togetherness in the Jaguars locker room. For the Jaguars fans loosing faith there is the prospect of a high pick in years draft. For now coach Bradley continues to work with what he has got as the Jacksonville faithful look for their first win of the season.
Key Men
San Francisco - Colin Kaepernick, the QB is dynamic and will be looking make plays and post a big score today.
Jacksonville - Cecil Shorts, with the absence of a substantial running game, Chad Henne may look to Shorts as a more productive outlet.
