Is there anything more anti-climatic than the trade deadline day? Talk of a trade for Jared Allen ended in nothing and aside from one minor trade, nothing happened! But different to the overhyped Premier League window on Sky - probably in a better way.
Am surprised, however, that the were no last minute trade attempts from St. Louis (or even Houston) for a more experienced QB. Vikings could have easily traded Cassel for a very low pick - but I guess the Rams and Texans are already focussing on next year and so don't even want to give that up?
Teams seem reluctant to trade mid season - a draft pick has much more value, seemingly, than a proven player.
Thoughts guys?!

I think some franchises are just biding their time now and keeping their stance on what picks they have. Some are in real need of a high quality first round draft pick.

Agree with that - sometimes strikes me as strange though that some teams wait to rusk it in the draft rather than swapping a lower pick for a proven commodity. Jared Allen could have done a massive job for a playoff team the year in exchange for a 3rd round pick (probably). Risk worth taking to be that final piece on the jigsaw?!
