Sunlife Life Stadium, Miami
The Bengals (6-2) travel to the Sunshine State to take on the Dolphins (3-4). Marvin Lewis looks to pick up in week 9 where he left off last week with a convincing 49-9 demolition of The Giants.
Andy Dalton is becoming an outsider as the NFL MVP. A surprise to many but Dalton is having a very good year, he has the fourth highest passing yards in the NFL with 2,249. WR Marvin Jones had eight receptions for 122 yards and four touchdowns last time out and is proving to be a great asset to the Bengals offensive line. Throw AJ Green into that mix and all of a sudden it's an eyeopener to what these relatively young wide outs have achieved thus far.
Geno Atkins and Carlos Dunlap have five and four sacks respectively. One aspect of that Bengals defense that could improve are the numbers of picks that they have taken. The defense have held four different teams to 10 points or less this season.
Joe Philbin has a huge task on his hands tomorrow night. His side have slipped to four straight defeats and another one tomorrow night could spell big problems for the Dolphins as they struggle to find a turn around in their fortunes. Ryan Tannehill has been sacked 32 times, the highest amount in the league. The pocket has to do more to keep him upright and allow him to have a better opportunity of connecting with Brian Hartline or Mike Wallace.
The defense ranked 21st in the league, only marginally better than the offense. If they don't pressure Andy Dalton tomorrow another loss will be on the horizon for the Dolphins. Considered a challenger to the Patriots in the AFC East, it's a must win game for the hosts tomorrow.
Despite being on the road, the Bengals have to be considered favourites for this one. Miami have already shown that they can put a run together and week 9 is the time to start turning the performances into wins.
DE Olivier Vernon is listed as probable (knee).
Key Men
Cincinatti - Andy Dalton, another 325 yard game and five touchdowns will be more than enough to put the Dolphins away.
Miami - Olivier Vernon, he had a good game last week with six tackles. The second year out of Miami could be the man to ignite life into the Dolphins defensive line.
