Week 10 sees a matchup between two franchises that have troubles for different reasons.
The (4-4) Miami Dolphins travel to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (0-8). Both teams are going through the mill right now. Miami are in the headlines for the wrong reasons which has resulted in the NFL conducting its own investigation. Tampa Bay have a head coach in Greg Schiano that has raised questions of his own. A record that has seen zero wins this season amplified by the fact that his management style is very questionable.
On Monday Night Football both teams will be looking to put difficult scenarios aside as they look for a much-needed "W".
Miami resurrected their season in week 9 with a win that stopped a run of four straight defeats. The next test for the Dolphins defense is to protect Ryan Tannehill, he has been 35 times already. A statistic that head coach and Joe Philbin and Tennehill would rather forget. Tennehill has the weapons to defeat Tamp Bay on the West coast of Florida. Tight end Charles clay has been used more of an orthodox wide receiver, he has rushed for 15 yards for one touchdown.
The Dolphins injury report is lengthy, most are either listed as probable or questionable. The only doubt is corner back Dimitri Patterson (groin).
Solidarity is key for the visitors, they need to show that the off the field incidents are not a distraction as they look to stay in contention within a tight AFC East.
Tampa Bay might see this as an opportunity to seize on the current situation at the Sun Life Stadium. Warren Sapp will have his No.99 shirt retired by Tampa Bay and it may be the only thing that he loyal Buccneers fans have to smile about on Monday night. Sapp, a hall of famer won the Super Bowl with Tampa Bay under John Gruden in 2003.
Sapp will not be happy looking at the statistics table only to find that the Tampa Bay defense is ranked 31st overall in the NFL. Lavonte David has five sacks this season and with a porous Miami pocket in town, this will be premium opportunity to add to his numbers.
Mike Glennon seems to be in sync with wide receiver Vincent Jackson. Jackson has 43 catches for 647 yards and four touchdown receptions which came in back to back games. The Buccaneers are going to have to show some initiative and spirit in an attempt to seek out their first win.
There is more to this game than just a win, both head coaches are walking a tight rope. This game might be on everyone's list to avoid but it could throw up a few surprises.
