The (2-1) Cowboys will aim to make it (3-1) today as they take on the (1-2) Chargers.
The much improved Philip Rivers will be hoping to find the early season form of wide receiver Eddie Royal as the Chargers will be desperate to avoid another defeat in week 4. The QB will be making his 116th consecutive start on Sunday, the second-longest streak among active QBs.
In order to stop Tony Romo the Chargers defensive line will need to buck up their ideas in order to prevent 4th quarter capitulations which has left the Bolt nation stunned in two of their first three games. They have missed more tackles than any other team in weeks 2 and 3. To that end Manti Te'o may get a start. The second round pick from Notre Dame will have to keep a close eye on DeMarco Murray if the Chargers are to have any success today.
Chargers fans will surely take a 24-21 win today and see the Bolts get the season back on track. A loss in this one may give the Raiders the momentum in next week's AFC West showdown.
The Cowboys have not lost to the Chargers since November 1983. They will be looking to exploit the Chargers fragile second half performances, something Tony Romo will be reminding his offensive line of as the games moves into the third quarter.
Cowboys fans will be eager to see running back DeMarco Murray tearing up the San Diego turf and the predatory skills of wide receiver Dez Bryant who will want to add to his 3,000 plus receiving yards.
Brandon Carr is familiar with Eddie Royal and maybe employed to keep out the Chargers wide receiver. Terrance Williams could replace Miles Austin (hamstring).
The local TV blackout has been lifted due to the extra number of tickets sold for today's game at the Qualcomm.
Key men
Chargers- Their defensive line. Should the Chargers have the lead going into the third quarter their mental state of mind is going to be crucial.
Cowboys - Tony Romo, The Cowboys QB has plenty of weapons at his disposal.
