The second live Sunday game has the ingredients of a tasty match up. The free scoring Broncos (4-0) head to Texas to take on the Cowboys (2-2).
If you're a Broncos fan you might already be sat looking at the NFC and trying to work out who you will be playing at the Superbowl in February. John Fox has got his Denver team playing some unbelievable football right now. Due to injuries, his on field General may have been doubted by some in the off season. In Peyton Manning the Broncos have an elite QB who can change the play on the line of scrimmage time after time. He will keep the defence guessing. Manning has a razor sharp mind with an arm that is as accurate as a rifle. This analogy may sound over dramatic but why not? We love football and some football fans are not old enough to have seem the likes of John Elway and Dan Marino play. Peyton is not going to be around for ever, embrace his presence on the field while it lasts. Manning's stats are pretty awesome, I was not even going to post them but that would not do them justice. 1470 passing yards averaging 361.2 yards for 16 TD's and ZERO picks.
Of course it's not all about Peyton Manning is it? WR Wes Welker has 266 receiving yards for 6 TD's this season but he sits behind WR Demaryius Thomas and WR Eric Decker in yardage. Thomas has 393 yards for 4 TD's and Decker has 340 yards for 1 TD. We are not finished yet with the Denver offence. TE Julius Thomas has also scored 4 TD's for 237 yards. RB Knowshon Moreno has run the football 238 yards making his way into the end zone 4 times. Eric Decker is probable for the game (shoulder).
Despite the offence being ranked number 1 in the league, the Denver defence are ranked 25th. There are no alarm bells at the minute due to the high scoring offence. Defensive co-ordinator Jack Del Rio will no doubt want those numbers to increase. OLB Lesley Woodyard has the most combined tackles for Denver (33) with 1.5 sacks. DE's Robert Ayers and Shaun Philllips both have 3.5 sacks this season. CB Champ Bailey is questionable (foot) and LB Von Miller will not feature (suspended).
Dallas come into this game on the back of a 31-20 defeat on the road at San Diego. Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett will know that his side will have to be at their best to overcome the Broncos. QB Tony Romo is capable and has some dangerous weapons in his offence. Romo has thrown for 1017 yards averaging 238 per game producing 8 TD's with only 1 interception. RB DeMarco Murray has rushed for 356 yards and 1 Td. Tony Romo can also rely on WR Dez Bryant who has figures of 282 yards for 4 TD's.
The Cowboys special teams will be looking to improve on their 77% field goal conversions. Every point will count in this one.
DE's George Selvie and DeMarcus Ware have 7 sacks between them, Selvie 3 and Ware 4. DT Jason Hatcher has 3 sacks to his name. DeMarcus Ware is listed as probable for this one (back).
This should be an interesting game. Denver will be full of confidence as they look to go 5-0. Dallas will be hoping to avoid a second straight defeat to an AFC West franchise as they look to use home advantage and keep Payton Manning sat on the side lines. Tony Romo is going to have to keep those drives going if the Cowboys are going to get anything out of this one but don't write them off.
Key men
Denver - Peyton Manning. His ability and numbers say it all.
Dallas - Dez Bryant. As the leading TD scorer he will be looking to use his speed and ability to add to his 4 TD's.
